FAQs

What happens on a typical day of surgery?

Undergoing dental surgery can be quite daunting for many people. That’s why we always ensure up to the day of surgery you have all the information you need to feel comfortable about your treatment. On the day of surgery, you will be looked after by one of our lovely implant trained nurses and Dr Phil Bennett, who will be on hand to run through any questions or queries you may have. Surgery time varies, depending on the complexity of your case and how many visits are required, all of this will be covered during your comprehensive consultation. After surgery is complete, you will be given a post-operative pack which contains everything you will need for your recovery and a review appointment will be booked. We are privileged to work one of the UK’s leading experts in dental implants, rest assured you will be in great hands.

How many teeth can an implant hold?

Individual implants should hold individual crowns but in some circumstances a set of teeth can be bridged between two dental implants

3d scans for implants?

A 3D scan of a patients jaw bone is a really useful tool to use when planning dental implants. It allows the surgeon to ‘map’ important anatomical structures and avoid these during placement of the implant. A 3D scan would also help the surgeon assess the amount of bone present to place the implant in.

Dental implants under £1,500?

Will usually be placed by inexperienced dental implantologists using cheaper dental implants. Liken it to any purchase you make and remember you only have one body.

Titanium teeth implants?

Dental implants are often made from Titanium as human bone can attach to titanium very well securing the implant for the long term.

Can dental implants be done in one day?

Yes and we provide this service, we plan the procedure to the finest detail so patients can have dental implants and their restorations placed in one day.

Is there an alternative to dentures or implants?

A gap in your mouth can be filled with a dental bridge off the natural teeth either side of the gap.

How successful are dental implants?

Our implantologist has an over 95% success rate of the 2000 implants he has placed over the last 20 years.

How long do dental implants take?

This depends on the amount of implants placed but for one implant the procedure will last less than an hour.

What are mini dental implants?

Smaller implants placed where there is not a lot of the bone present for the implantologist. These can be used to help anchor loose dentures or place small restorations on top.

Dental implant procedure?

This is a gentle procedure under local anaesthetic to place dental implants in a patients jaw in order to place a restoration on top.

What are the dangers of dental implants?

The skill of placing any dental implant is in the planning. With an experienced dental implant expert dangers are mitigated. There are always risks with every surgical procedure, but with proper planning these can be avoided at all costs.
