FAQs

How does the aligner work?

The aligner is a removable custom-made appliance which will fit snugly over your teeth, applying constant, gentle and precise pressure to ease teeth back into position. They must be worn throughout the day during treatment, only being removed for eating and cleaning or for special occasions.

Are there any limitations to the Inman Aligner?

This type of brace is not suited to cases of heavy crowding. Also, the aligners can take a couple of days to get used to initially and speech can be a little affected for the first couple of days, but then things tend to settle back to normal. It may be necessary to extend the course if some teeth are reluctant to move.

How long do I have to wear braces?

This depends on how crowded your teeth are and what device Alex uses to straighten your teeth. As a guide, for mild to moderate crowding using clear aligners we measure the time in weeks. For traditional braces with either metal or clear brackets can take between 12 and 24 months.

Do I have to wear a retainer after my braces have finished?

Yes we always recommend using a retainer and we will supply these after treatment. There are different types and Alex will prescribe the correct one to keep your teeth straight for years to come.
